Really glad I found this thread, it's been raining quite hard on and off for a few weeks now in the West of Scotland and last night I noticed a couple of drops of water, passenger(left)side , just on the flat bit next to the rear head rest.
After a quick search last night I then today checked the small storage bit in the boot as a few people had suggested and found a puddle about an inch deep.
I'll be trying this great bit of advice first chance I get, so a big thanks to the OP even though it's an old thread.
I do have one curiosity though, why is there a plastic plug where water is meant to drain out?, i'm presuming it's a plug that water can pass through and is just becoming clogged but wouldn't it just be better leaving it off once you get it off?
