Actually the rubber rim will help if you are attentive. Recently I was looking for a lightly used sports coupe or equivalent on dealer lots while on the hunt for a new car. Alot of these cars have the new dark colored grey and black wheels and these show damage from a mile away. I don't know if its the Northeast using granite curbstones of uneven height or wide wheels are sticking more but almost all the cars had curb rash. Maybe in Boston where parking has become desperate and people are trying to squeeze into smaller spaces. Almost every Golf R's with the black Pretoria wheels has curb rash. Audi's, WRX's and BMW's too.
