The best thing to do is to get a waterproof pad. A fairly large one to kneel on. The key is to kneel on one knee and keep your back as upright and straight as possible. With the chairs you posted above it will force you to lean or crunch down to the lower areas. You need a pad to lean one knee on.

Been doing this for 10+ years and it is the only way to keep your back feeling good while detailing.
