All the excitement, instruction and intense competition of the Rev It Up (RIU) Performance Driving School and National Racing Competition – a hit with thousands of fans across the country – will take to the pavement again in 2006 with six scheduled stops in major cities throughout the United States.

RIU presented by Chevrolet is the chance for automotive enthusiasts and thrill seekers to stop watching races on TV and jump into the action for real! RIU provides the cars, safety equipment and expert instruction that guarantees a high-energy experience. Competitors only need to sign up, show up, listen up to professional instructors, and use up multiple practice laps before saddling up to the RIU Competition Course for a shot at the National Championship. The talented hotshoe with the highest score nationally on the RIU Competition Course will receive a brand new Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged.

The 2006 version of RIU will feature more of everything – instruction, cool cars and track time. There will be increased guidance from professional racers, and powerful vehicles from Chevrolet. Specifically the Corvette C6, Cobalt SS, Cobalt SS Supercharged and Impala SS will be utilized on RIU Skills Courses where drivers learn more about car control, vehicle dynamics and racing lines. And once practice is over, it's time to show your stuff in a Cobalt SS for two laps on the RIU Competition Course. The RIU program also has a new twist this year – Hot Laps in the Corvette C6 where guests ride "shotgun" with a pro driver and learn how to attack an autocross course. The very popular racing kart track will also be back as part of 2006 events, as well as a course where people can get a feel for the entire Chevrolet SS car line.

There are a limited number of competition slots available during each RIU weekend, so pre-registration is very highly suggested. The cost is only $50.00, or $45.00 if you sign up online in advance at www.RevItUpRacing.com. Competitors must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
