Battery life is greatly dependent on outside factors, so a car that is always garage when not driven (ie garage at home and at office,) is regularly used for driving longer stretches, isn't left unused for any length of time and lives in moderate climates will last much longer than one that is used for short trips and is exposed to the elements.

That is why batteries aren't on a scheduled rotation.
