shiftknob.
1) press and hold the shiftbutton and remove the shiftknob from the shiftrod.
2) Carefully slide a plastic lever and slowly "lift/pry" around the sides of the piece
3) I cut my piece so that it would fit perfectly with the edges tucked in.

Shiftplate
1) with the shiftknob removed reach around the inner opening of the shiftboot and slowly pull towards the middle of the shiftboot and up.
2) remove the gear indicator with a Torx T6 screwdriver, remove the electrical wiring
3) you should be able to have your shiftplate ready to be sprayed with spray adhesive and wrap the CF material on it.
PS. I've been trying to get my buddy to do this mod as I already did the shiftknob for him already.
