I hear you guys.
I just don't think the lame wood grain or the carbon fiber tape works well with the trim either - so what's left?
Going with the all gloss black is kind of pointless if the majority of your interior is black anyway.
I think if you pick and choose what panels to paint the exterior color and what panels to go with the gloss black - it could look really good.
