I have a different car now but same setup. E91 325D msport auto, ZF 6Hp 21 I think. Serviced the gearbox today, new pan and oil, mechatronic sleeves and connector sleeve. Worst part I found was trying to get the mechatronic connector plug seal out and replaced. The only access to it had an exhaust hanger in the way. I did manage to pry it out with a screwdriver but could not get it back in. Little tip if it helps anyone I used a pry bar with a 45 degrees ish angle, cut a bit of wood to go over the connector tube and used the cast metal that was in the way as a place to or against the wood, then used my other hand to press the connector clip in.
