Glad this guide is helping folks! I had to do quite a bit of digging on the forums + testing with a few junkyard parts, but definitely worth it for an OEM solution.

Yeah you'll want to try and keep to the mirror style that matches your 2011. I have a 2011, as well. I believe early F10 5 series + E chassis X1's from later years might be your best bet! I never got the chance to test an X1 mirror but would assume that it also got the newer chip inside of it after 2013 or so.
