Plus 1 on this mod. I picked up an F10 5 series mirror off eBay for 60 bucks. Swapped the module out of my 2011 e92 M3 mirror and it connected to our new garage doors immediately. I didn't try it, but I wondered if I just could have installed the mirror without opening it up and swapping the modules. Anyone try this?

Also, if you are trying to figure out if your mirror module works with the new Homelink protocol, the Homelink technician told me the old style takes approximately 20 seconds to clear the existing programming when you hold the 1 and 3 buttons down. With the new protocol, it takes only about 10 seconds to clear the former programming.
