This is just an update to show everyone what not to do when replacing your trim.

I managed to get all the trim off the car without breaking any clips or scratching the paint, but! when replacing the trim there is an angled piece of rubber which must sit underneath the seal on the door frame above the side mirror.

pic 1. wrong! It must be tucked in under the seal!
pic 2. right.

I know this may seem logical to most but I didn't realise and when I washed my car I noticed the carpet was damp in the footwell under where the side mirror meets the window. Water inside = bad.

It didn't take me long to work out that it must have been something I did when wrapping the trim. Bloody turkey.

Anyway it's all fixed now, hope this helps anyone who is planning to remove their window trim.
