If it does not cut on, make sure you have a good ground connection where the taillight bolts up! I sanded the frame for contact and added a washer as well.

Hey I'm a bit confused. So the male wire is the one that the power is coming from? I thought it was the one that was going to the vacuum. So when you unplug the connector, the one that dangles is the once going to the vacuum control valve
Does that mean we have to cut of the male conector that is in the car so we can have the wires exposed or use your extender you are talking about and cut the male part to have bare wire?
