We got the car used with 90k miles. Original owner only used synthetic oil... valvetrain clattered once is a while. I've done 3 services on the car with Castrol 0w/40 synthetic.... still had a occasional clatter.
One service with CERATEC, same Castrol and all noises gone. The ONLY noise when running with the hood open is the fuel injectors ticking. It's so quiet now.
Believe me, I'm usually a skeptic too.
