I had this bad in my 530d. It sounded like creaking sails on a ship, very intrusive, especially when going over uneven surfaces (e.g. pulling off the drive).
I had replacement door seals from BMW and tried loads of other remedies, but in the end it vanished completely when I started washing the car myself.
