Yes, I would agree with your assessment but is he looking to buy and maintain the car or restore it? I see the IS as similar to the ZHP and certainly not a collector’s car but a unique weekend car. BMW seemed to just use the IS name to try and recreate the ZHP mystic but came up short compared to the E46 version. I might pay a little premium for a well maintained IS but not for one that was a daily driver and not maintained well.
