Our D is a 93K miles. Other than the usual SCR tank replacement, and a CBU cleaning, it has been trouble free (well I did need to get the antenna amplifier replaced). It also barely sips DEF, it goes about 30K miles between tank fills. Another poster said his was not good for long trips, ours has been great for long trips.

Above indicates "mall crawler diesel" for the Mrs. I believe for lots of short trips, the Diesel is not the optimum choice, it does best for longer hauls.

But to answer the original question (which I responded to years ago), the D will be replaced with a Tesla 3, or an equivalent if another car company comes up with one in time (hint hint BMW). As we have 2 cars, the 340GT will serve for hauling stuff, or very long distances.
