I dug up a service bulletin dated July 2013. It is also numbered 10E-A02.

Here is what is says,
5. IMPORTANT:
Injectors with P/N 13 53 7 585 261 04-08 index are not affected by this Service Action and should not be replaced.
Injectors with PN/index 13 53 7 537 317-xx or 13 53 7 565 138-01 up to 7 565 138-07 must be carefully removed in a sequential order (following REP13 53 310) and marked with the cylinder number.

A couple of things to keep in mind,
1. If your vehicle was covered by this older recall it may no longer be eligible.
2. If you have index -08 or greater, even though the vehicle has not been covered by a preceding recall, the dealer will send you on your way.

I believe my vehicle has been previously covered, built 07/2007 but has index -08, they were in when I bought the vehicle. I'll check with BMW-USA but I think I'm out of luck.
If my VIN will ultimately show an open recall for injectors, I will be buying a used set of index -07 or lesser, throw them in code it up and drive straight to the dealer with a confused look on my face.

I hope this works out for everyone with early N54s. This is a hot thread and for good reason. Early N54 injectors are a pain in the neck and expensive to replace!!
Well that sucks. I have index 8 and 9’s.
