Yeah something is up. I got that number not from the computer but from doing the math when I refilled. My computer sits at about 26mpg average but more like 70% highway. I should qualify that my 28 was staying within 10 over due to active police and NOT towing. Just us two and some luggage.

As far as the towing rig I have a Kendon fold-up SLR trailer, its got its own suspension and runs on real wheels:

And an Execuhitch/Invisihitch. Made in GA, the frame replaces the bumper and when you remove the gooseneck its completely invisible. Full 2" ball, with it car is rated for 250/2500. Their kit came with the wiring harness. taps into the rear lights and has its own controller so it doesnt piss off the light monitoring system:

Car barely knows its back there. No bouncing, no real noise outside of an occasional click from the ball over a big bump. Gas mileage at 80 drops maybe 10-15%.
