Any suspension upgrade on the xi will improve. Springs will wear out the shocks quicker but there will be improvement.

No idea why they arent compatible, I just wrote that I was told.
Im taking my leave of this thread now since I know longer have the xi. If someone pm's me with any new information I will be sure to update it. Hopefully it will become a sticky and I hope it helped some folks out.
