Hey Sam,
I have the 2013 v2 and upgraded from v1. I can't say I noticed much difference except for satnav picking up some new roads in my area (and this is the prime reason for the update, otherwise I'd have held off).
FYI I used the BMW original discs and a code from sierras, unfortunately the same code for the v1 would not work and therefore a new code was required.
