I've done 2 transmission services (2 fluid changes, 1 included changing the pan/filter) and reset adaptations after both services.
I hear a lot of complaints about the trans, but I think mine is really good. Shifts are quick and firm. There is, however, a longer delay than I like with the paddle shifters and the actual shift ...
Maybe I just don't know what a "good" automatic trans is supposed to feel like?
