So it seems like my transfer case took a crap, according to the trust worthy shop were i take my car. I was told its the transfer case itself thats bad oil was drained and lots of metal shavings came out. So that covers a few things i guess, Moving forward im hunting down a transfer case i was told that the Transfer case from a 328xi is different? smaller? and the transfer case from a 335xi is bigger? or stronger? what would be the difference if any?
My car is a 08 335xi E92 (coupe) would a transfer case from a 08 335xi e90 work? i was told i cant use a transfer case from a e90? That i have to find one from the exact year, model, and body type? That leaves me with the question how many transfer cases are there ? whats compatible with what? im completely lost
