That's what I thought too. But definitely NOT the case. No number of pulls would open the locks.

I think a lot of owners think the same thing, because it does feel mechanical when you do the double pull, that is why I was so shocked when this happened to me this afternoon. I actually had to replace the fuse by laying over the center console since I could not open the passenger door.

Doing a search on the net before I hit this forum, there were numerous complaints that I found that listed the same thing. I think it is truly is a safety issue and BMW should do something to fix it.
