what make is it? Our w/m (Bosch) lasted 15 years at which point it became uneconomic to repair. I was surprised how cheap it was to get a new one of decent quality £345 (Bosch WAE28469GB from Appliance World). Our repair guy advised to buy Bosch as he said the electronic items (which can be the most expensive to replace) are more reliable than other makes.
I guess it depends on how expensive the repair will be - I suspect you'll be facing a bill of £80 - £150 depending on what is wrong
