I'm not sure why they would choose to label it that way or what the nuance is—the 2018 refers to the MY of the car according to retailer sites.
I don't use -30 oils, but the liqui moly 5w-40 in my garage says LL-01 without the caveat. The label on the website for the same product says up to 2018.
Either way, your car will turn into dust before it will ever know
