I also live in New England and have essentially the same vehicle. I initially ran Continental DWS but even with X-drive, they wouldn't reliably get me up my 150' driveway with ~12% grade. On ice, nothing.
Now, have a summer set of Conti DW and winter set of Bridgestone Blizzak 001. The blizzaks are noisy and a little vague feeling compared to the DW but they grip incredibly well in wet, snow, or ice. Don't forget that the ability to stop is even more important than the ability to go.
To be fair, if it wasn't for the driveway, I'd probably have stayed with DWS
