Transmission woes :( Shop rec's for replacement
I have a 08 335xi with 182,xxx miles and my transmission is slipping and is throwing me into limp mode. I am getting 4F85 code, basically E-clutch failure caused by worn bushing.
I love this car (engine runs strong) and am having a hard time with
A) spending $4k to rebuild the trans
and
B) getting rid of the car
That brought me to used transmissions. I see they are going for about $300 but the only issue is I can't find anyone who will put a used one in for less than $2000.
Does anyone have any shop rec's in Western Oregon that would install a used trans?
