well i am not sure what i did but i got it all working properly. i took the steering wheel out and checked continuity, sat there scratching my head cuz everything was right, and said fuck it and put it back together and all that was on was the 4x4 light. i took it around the block and it went away so I'm not sure what the problem was, must have just been a connector not plugged in all the way or something.
i can tell the paddles will be a blast to drive with! i had to take it super easy when testing it, my water pump went out on me and the replacement isn't here yet but i can't wait to really get on it after i replace the water pump!
