Awesome post, thanks so much, I learned a lot.
One additional tip for beginners:
Don't wear jewlery, watches, clothes with buttons, while detailing. You'll inevitably scratch the car. I usually wear gym shorts/tee shirt. Sorry if that's already been mentioned.
