Still don't get why guys tuning their diesels care about smoke. I been playing with them for 20 years and never saw a good-running one making decent power without a smoke element to it. Then came emissions controls. And the workarounds and compromises. Sorry folks, but you can't have it both ways. Making power boils down to how much fuel and air you can push through it, and when it comes to diesels, that means smoke. You don't see it as much from the gassers, but it's there, just not soot.

So if you want a powerful, tuned M57, get used to the idea of smoke. Simple as that. Only question is how much. Your power and smoke levels will always be roughly proportional, within tune quality variances.
