I think you're misunderstanding their point. It's not ridiculous to by a performance intake, it's ridiculous to buy a performance intake
for a 328i. The performance increase will be negligible for a naturally aspirated engine so that it is not worth any money to add it to your car. That's my understanding of the responses so far.
