when my car had this problem

the computer on bmw diagnostic lots off issues inclusive the dme and juntion box
the dealer put the car upside down he checked every relay and every fuse
by the fourth day in the morning after i tell him it should be some cable disconnect or so
he take the battery off and suprise rusted cables one of them cutted all the way
the other almost in the same condition......
during 4 days i went to the dealer several times to see if they were trying to fix the problem every time the electician was arround my car checking all the system with the voltimeter and the diag machine and nothing.
has i said in the 4 day of work he choose to start from the source of power and guess what it was it cable rusted and the ather almost broken too
