It's because there's nothing really special about the cars made today and sadly it's not worth trying to keep something running if there's always going to e a bigger and better car out there. I mean sure, you could take something like a 325 and really make it yours because it did this and that for you but would you really keep putting in money to keep it running (though I'm pretty sure there are a few out there who this)?
I know what your point is but it's not the mindset of today's consumer.
