Stealers are the worst. If there's a way out of paying out for literally anything they'll try it. I can imagine the response being "oh it's too high mileage it's not one of our warranty covered cars", "user error / beyond normal wear and tear ", "sold as seen" etc etc all excuses I've seen before.
They count on the fact that you're without a car and so will do whatever it takes to get the situation resolved with the least hassle I. E. Not use them
Also not just bmw but a lot of franchise outlets sell slightly cheaper cars next to their "used approved" ones but actually come with zero warranty and aren't covered by their usual T's and C's. Gotta be careful out there!
