Bumper to Bumper warranty to 170k??

My friend just bought a e60 M5 and said that it has a warranty to 170k bumper to bumper warranty, it is an aftermarket warranty that the first buyer bought after the 50k was up from BMW

Does this sound Legit? i cant imagine anyone wanting to warranty a M5 to 170k unless that warranty was like 10k+, and it inculdes maintenance

Can anyone else chime in here? i was at a loss when he told me about this warranty

i thought bmw only warranties a car for 6 (maybe 7?) years 100k miles.

Hope he did not give his money to one of those warranty scam companies that keep getting busted by the feds.

I assume the orig owner is lying. I read the craigslist add and it states the same thing.

easy care warranty to 170k miles or 2017............which ever is first.

If it were me i'd make sure he shows proof of the warranty. Then i'd have him sell the warranty (prorated amount)back to the company and then buy your own.

maybe there are 3rd parties that extend to 170k..... just make sure to read up on warranty company and what's covered. 3rd parties warranties are known to run "scams"
