Gave the car its first real clean today
Gave my car a decent clean and polish today (first time ever since owning) took a few hours, I had originally cleaned the wheels yesterday so that was good
So
For the Bodywork
Interior

Looks great mate! Top notch!
A good list of products too. Only thing I disagree with is the Squeege blade! A big no no for me! Last edited by Alex.J; 09-02-2013 at 03:23 AM.. |

WOAH NICE PICS!! NICE EFFORT!
How long did it take? I love love love your interior! Saddle Brown is the NO1 in the bizz in my book!!!! Edit Oh yea... Squeegee blade is a massive NO too... But I hate watermarks and I can never pat dry the car fast enough so marks are left over ![]() |

Excellent results - two drying towels ey? I used Sonus, wasn't impressed switch to http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/ind...3ft-x-2ft.html - brilliant.
What do you use on the leather? I like Zainos 'leather in a bottle' |

"Wipe main bodywork panels down with squeegy blade"
Nooooooo! Waffle weave or MF drying towel for this part of the process. You may believe that you have removed all contaminants through washing, but wiping the blade over to dry off the paintwork can cause loads of issues. If even a minuscule piece of grit gets involved, its dragged over the paint with no means of escape! Please, just throw it away! Good job else! Last edited by scaryprowler; 09-02-2013 at 07:16 AM.. Looks great mate! I love that interior and could even live with the wood!
As for the water blade... I know they are generally frowned upon BUT I have one and wouldn't be without it. I keep it very clean, its never been put down on anything other than a clean MF and I wipe the blade clean after every stroke. To this day it has not left a single mark on the paintwork of ether car and they are generally washed once a week in the summer and every other week during the winter. The time saved allows me to get more done in other areas so its a no brainer in my book! Anyway, top work and I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to use it once the efforts been put in and it looks brand new again!

Well, Got hit in this today
Dual carriage way, some roads turn out into out. Speed is reduced to 50mph for this zone. get close to a area where people join the road and i see a white van, carry on but as I get closer I see her looking the other way and not the way i was coming, she starts creeping out. I'm heavy on the brakes to not t bone her but also pulling to the right where I had some space but it was not enough and this happened. One of them things i suppose, i was a little shaken as in 11 years of driving got rear ended about 8 years ago and now this. Worst thing was my little girl was in the passenger seat? which is where the impact was. She wasn't expecting the bang however she was just perfect not even upset. We both have stiff necks. The lady called her inusurance who in turn called me stating they accept full liability and want to sort it without involving my insurance. They have aranged collection to a approved BMW Garage of my choice, sorted a loan executive car and are calling back Monday to find out if we need medical attention. Really cannot complain i suppose. ![]() damage looks better than it is, the internal part where the door shut is rather bad. where she pulled out from ![]() the damage, sorry scratch to her motor ![]() ![]() |
