M57 Randomly Shut off While Driving
2010 BMW 335d M57, driving down the road and it just randomly shut off. It has been sitting for a month until I got the new harmonic balancer and I was driving another vehicle. The balancer didn't fail though, it was however cracked. Got that replaced, used a bump start button on the solenoid to remove and install the stretch belt. Car ran perfect, took it 10 minutes up the road and then it randomly shut off. No flashing lights on the dash, no shudder, nothing. Now it won't start at all, even after letting it cool down. Has almost 3/4 tank of diesel, new fuel filter 2-3 months ago. Tried clearing the codes, disconnected the battery, tried a different key, still no fire. The DEF codes have been there for over a year, tried fixing that with no luck at the start and I was eventually going to delete it. Codes are 4121, 4593, 46F9, 474D, 47FE, 48E0, 4AE5, and 4B06.

Replace the crank position sensor. It's under the starter. Do yourself a favour and get one from the dealer. You don't wanna do this job twice.

Thank you. I back-probed the wire too, one see's constant voltage while the other has random spikes. The car did randomly start and then quit twice, not running longer than a minute. I'm also getting other stupid faults now like the battery warning on the gauge cluster and a DDE relay fault. I checked the relay and it's fine. The voltage is low in the car, I currently have the battery on charge.
