FML :sigh:
I have had possibly the worst day with regards to my car today. I took the car to the dealer for the first time since buying my e90 b/c of a flat tire warning; turns out I had two flat tires due to nails from houses being built near my parent's home. Cost $700. On my way home, I got pulled over going 51/35...I was driving with one car in front of me and one behind, both of which maintained the same distance on the road i was driving on- but I was the on who got the ticket. That puts me at 9 points- 3 away from 6 month suspension and traffic school (not to mention insurance hike). Finally, when I went out for a cigarette, I saw my car's paint under the garage flood light and saw massive scratches in addition to extensive spiderwebs- due to the dealer's shitty wash. I just detailed my car for the first time 2 weeks ago by taking advantage of literally the last semi-warm day here in MI Just for that detail, I bought a PC 7424xp, P0203S, JetSeal 109, Claybar/lube, and zymol carbon- it took 3 days and now all that work is gone. so my question to you is what would be the best way, if at all possible, to undo what they did? Temp outside is 20F and I have no heated garage. FML. |

Sucks man...
My detailer told me when I bring my car in to make signs and affix them to the windows and steering wheel basically saying "Do NOT Wash." Keep that in mind for future dealer visits. |

A good SA will remember to follow thru on a request. Still, (as mentioned above) it doesn't hurt to paste a bunch of "DO NOTs" all over the interior.

I have a very good relationship with my SA and she knows not to wash our cars. Even so, I always put a polite sticky note inside for the Tech - just in case he doesn't look at the notes carefully and has it washed out of habit.
A light polish should be all you need though. Obnoxious since you just did the detail, but not the worst thing in the world.

Like Toad said, you may want to take the buffer to it again and it shouldn't take as long as the first time. Can you borrow a space heater or something like that to warm up the garage? Also Halogen light stands really throw some heat as well.
You won't need to clay again so that 'll save some time. Just PO203 and then JetSeal. Sorry to hear of that s**t day, man. We all get em every now and then.

That sucks man, sorry about that. But to repeat what everyone else is saying, just put a sign in your windshield that says, "do not wash"

They say bad things happen in threes, so you should be clear for a little bit now!
Still sucks, just repolish (shouldn't take long) rewax, and use a sign in the windshield from now on. |
