Charge pipe questions
I have an 08 n54 w 110k (awd 6sp). Vrsf stepped IC, Cobb stage 1+.
Charge pipe is stock, and I replaced it 30k ago. Cracked again last night. I think it's time to stop dicking ariund with this thing, and go aftermarket. car is a daily driver. Some questions for the schooled tuners here: 1) I'm looking at the vrsf pipe, because I like the ic I have from them. It appears it will only work with an aftermarket BOV. I love the sound, but I need my car to be suitable for.a professional. Can I run the stock BPV setup with this, or will I need a quiet BOV to avoid sounding like Paul Walker? 2) I've read I should upgrade to regular "worm clamps" instead of the ones the kit provides. Any opinions? 3) This thing looks way more efficient that the ridiculous stock setup. Will I need to adjust the tune at all? 4) any other wisdom/advice? TIA! |

vrsf does sell a version of their charge pipe that uses the stock dv's. I would wait for their black friday sale if you can wait or next time there's a ebay coupon. i would also recommend replacing your vaccum lines while you have everything off, at least the major ones.

I got the VRSF chargepipe with stock diverter valve holes and been running it for 2 weeks now with MHD stage 2 tune.
No problems. I also went with VRSF because I had downpipes from them that seemed good quality. I dropped one of the tiny nut from their clamp and couldn't find it so had to reuse the BMW clamp on the pipe to inter cooler side, had it pop off 3 times because OE clamp is really tight fit and couldn't wrap it all around but now it's holding up perfectly. 4) For advice, I recommend sillicone spray. It works very well to rotate the rubber elbow on the grainy pipe. Also helped me slide the OE clamp all around. Last edited by TheMidnightNarwhal; 10-10-2018 at 09:35 AM.. |

Super helpful guys, thanks. Found the setup on their site for the stock diverter valves. I'd love to wait for the sale, but I want my baby back, and honestly, this thing is like half the price of the OE unit, so I already feel like I'm saving dough.
Vacuum lines is a great call. Definitely will do that. And thanks for the silicone spray tip. That elbow looks like it might be a bit cumbersome to twist around and fit on. AA |

Quote:
1) They make a OE DV option or BOV options 2) The included clamps work fine we've sold 100's. 3) No Tuning required 4) Definitely upgrade and save yourself a headache! |

I'm currently running the VRSF chargepipe with the DV. No complaints whatsoever, holds up my boost and tune quite well. I believe every order comes with new clamps, unless you need to replace your C-Clamp (if you broke it.) As for advice, replace it ASAP. Mine blew up when I was stock!
