I bought a 2007 E92 BMW 335i two weeks ago. The car came with 19" wheels and the stock 18" wheels. The 19" wheels are on the car at the moment. The TMP error keeps coming up on my iDrive. Yesterday the low tire pressure for the back right tire came on. I put some air in the tire with low pressure but it looks fine to me. The steering wheel shakes are 40mph.
Front Tires with 19" wheels 225/40 ZR19 93Y Back Tires with 19" wheels 235/35 ZR19 91Y _______________________________ The Stock rims have different set of tires. Of course they have the 18" stock wheel. Falken 265/35 ZR18 97Y Bridgestone 225/40 R18 88W Pirelli 265/35 R18 97V Bridgestone 225/40 R18 88W - This tire damaged. Cannot be repaired I looked at the front tires that I have on and put a penny to see the level of the tread. To me they look low. I don't know much about tires. |

You put air, so what does the air pump gauge say ? The TPMS may simply need to be recalibrated, but you need to make sure you do have the correct pressure in there before you set the calibration. Recommended pressure are in the front door well. It is measured with the tires cold. If you have the correct pressure, redo the calibration thing with the controls at the dashboard (it's all explained in the user manual, I dont remember but it was not intuitive at all).
There is also a pretty good possibility that your 19 wheels have no TPMS sensor, which will obviously trigger the dashboard warning constantly. ECS, Bavauto, Tisher, and other sponsors here sell TPMS sensors, if thats' your issue. Your mismatch tires on your 18' wheels cannot be used, it's unsafe to use different tires on the same axle. |

Do "check controls", navigate to the tire problem icon, keep the BC button (the one on the left hand control stick) pressed. A ccid number will appear. Look for it on the internet or report back here. It'll tell more about what the car thinks the issue is.
I like a lot the Michelin AS3. Just got them, very good. The Ventus V12 is a lower price option that is also good, so is the conti DWS. Make an idea for yourself by reading the reviews on the tirerack, most comprehensive set of tire tests around. |
