New 335i Owner

Last Saturday I did a bit of a deal with a trader on my GT535 as all it did was sit on my drive way all week and I purchased a 2010 335i Convertible M Sport Highline DCT with 45k miles in Laguna Seca Blue.

Apparently its had a performance exhaust system fitted, all I know is that it is very raspy, sounds nice, and the car, well that's quick but she dose need a little tweek, along with some cheeky mods to make her mine.

I do have some questions, there are one or two things that I thought she would have but dose not, and the roof will go down on the key but not up, just wondering if that's to do with the key, or coding, also its not one touch so I have purchased a module to enable one touch open and close along with doing all that on the key.

Congrats! I nearly bought this car last summer, but was beaten to it (and the price was a bit optimistic IMO!). It has the BMW PE which is a nice little bonus!

You should be able to enable the roof up by key with coding

Great looking car dude. Love seeing e93s! will keep an eye on this thread! Also in terms of the module purchased is that the Smarttop? That will definitely let you control the roof with the key, while driving and one touch operation !

While I was in with the dealer he had call after call about the car,

All I need is some one who can do some coding for me.

I also want electric fold mirrors as this dose not have them, am I right in thinking, purchase a set of E/F mirrors and get the switch or is it not that simple.

Thats the one! mine should be here on the weekend too!

In terms of your mirrors i believe you need to have memory seats as a prerequisite. If you have them then you should be able to get electric mirrors fitted and coded.

Yeah I'd ditch the Elephant Ears LCI mirrors for M3 ones.

Progress, the car was dropped of at the body shop last night. There is a ding on the driver's door that the dealer did when moving the car, he is footing the bill, also the stone chips on the passenger window pillar are being sorted, the roof module has arrived and looks like a simple plug n play loom, so that's being done on sunday.

Front splitter on order and the quad rear defuser will be the next thing, the car has a performance exhaust system, from the middle back, apparently fitted by BMW, I will be replacing the cans and fitting quad tips so instead of cutting the box's off I will be unbolting this from the centre and have it replaced from there. I haven't a clue what the system is, but it cost around £1500 from BMW.

Looking at some 19" wheels 9.5 & 10.5 dished, possibly painting the centres to match the car, who knows.....

It will be the PE system.

Will you be looking to sell on the bits you remove?

I could be interested in it (especially the exhaust tips)

PE System, enlighten me.

And Yes, there will be a defuser and the rear part of the exhaust, hopefully from the Y joint.

Performance Exhaust.

BMW make a load of optional extras under the M performance name:

Cool, I'll keep an eye out.

It's a pretty pricey backbox made by BMW. It sounds awesome and personally I'd not mess with it past the tips! The retail on it is around £1250 nowadays, so £1500 fitted is probably about right!

Yeah don't cut it up. If you want other tips, do a £ + swap for another OE exhaust and then do your tip swap then.

You have this performance exhaust, should be worth something when you come to sale it so don't cut it! Just swap it with a stock exhaust and cut the stock.
