Car updated to 29.2 or later - No problem?

I just had my 335i in for service as it was taking a long time to crank, which sounded like the dreaded fuel pump failure. The fuel pump checks out, and it's fairly new having been replaced in the Spring due to a SIB. The tech found a couple of faults which are attributed to having the newer pump with an older progman, although that makes me wonder why it wasn't updated when the pump was installed.

So, I have an updated progman, although I don't see the version number anywhere on the paperwork. Expecting the worst, I took a long route from the dealer back to work to test things out. Accelerating hard from various speeds, in D, DS, and manual, and in various conditions, I quite frankly can't detect any lag or other bad behavior. Perhaps there is something I'm not doing, or maybe I'm just not sensitive enough (no emo here... ), but at this point I can't say that there is a problem.

Is there some sort of "lag test" that people are trying? Maybe I just like the car too much or something...

Try flooring it in 4th gear at 2000 rpms.

Dude that's how I fucked up my fuel pump on demand lol. I would give it full throttle at low revs and it would just shit a brick and cut power.

Most noticable difference is the noise coming from the car exhuast once you start it. I mean it is way louder then it used to be. If you don't see any difference there also then either you were already on 29.2 or higher version or your dealer loaded version lower then 29.2.

You can call the dealer and check what version they loaded.

I called and found out that the version is 30.0. Perhaps I don't notice it because I have an AT? If I floored it in 4th gear at 2k RPM then it would probably kick-down, and in most cases I would downshift myself before doing so. I don't think I'll be changing my driving habits anytime soon, so this may not be a problem for me much, if ever.
