cic retrofit to pre lci e92

Hello everyone,

I plan to retrofit cic unit to pre lci e92. I am doing research before pulling the triger and I can't find answres to few questions regarding it. Lets start with my car: it has BMW professional radio, base audio system, and no tcu mulf or combox at the back, aux port in armreast - I assume connected directly to quadlock

My question is about aux. How to code cic so it takes aux direct from quadlock not from combox or mulf.

Second question is, I have read that past 2009 or so, e9x models came with logic as base audio option. Is it possible to code cic for base audio not for logic? If yes wich parameters it has to be set to vo and in cic?

Do all panels from e9x will fit e92? Is there any differences in panels besides color and cup holder option? Facelift or pre fl.

In the end my plan is to put apple/android carplay module. Another option is to put mask2 wich is much more cheaper and add android screen so it would have bigger screen, but I much more prefear cic with carplay adapter, when cheap android

Thanks for answers.

CIC is configurable by coding depending on audio option installed. I believe it's Base, Hifi and Logic 7.

The panels in the dash are all about the same. depending if you have seat heating then that might be something you'll figure out. If I remember correctly that these were separate buttons on the pre-lci; lci had the ihka unit built in.

So I did my retrofit, dashboards are all the same for e9x models. Yes you can enable aux for cic to take from quad lock by coding it.

Now I want to add combox to my car. Same issue no tcu or mulf in the back. As i understand for combox all i need is 12v ground and fiber optic cable in and out. Is it correct? Of so where could I get 12v for combox from the trunk?

Hey how did you manage to get the coding working. I can’t seem to get my aux to work. I currently have the same set up. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
