Paint chip Help
Purchased a approved used 3 series from Coopers BMW which arranged to have this repaired before I picked it up but as you can see it looks crap.
Any thing I can do to it or best get pro help. Rear door edge.

I went to see an E61 335d today at Knights @ Stoke. It was pre-preparation, and the body was covered in yellow chalk where they were going to touch it up. There was a lot of marks around the car, maybe as many as two dozen (and some were pretty deep). If they were repaired to the same standard as Exotica's, they'd never sell the car.
Did I buy it? Nope, it didn't have Xenon's! Mike |

I would but its a five hour round trip. I could suggest a repair and invoice them but I bet they will refuse.

E mail them the picture and ask them what they are going to do without inconveniencing you. However, unless you pointed the repair out to them at the time of accepting the car, I suspect that they may say 'tough' unless you can show that whilst the repair looked ok on collection, it has since come out.

Did you get a warranty of any kind?
If they accept liability, see if there's a nearer BMW dealership and ask if they can do the work, to be invoiced back to the selling dealership... Although I'd agree on the issue of checking before accepting, if they said they'd do a repair and it's been done poorly, then you are surely entitled to ask them to make a decent job of it. |
