Don't buy from ECS
Don't buy from ECS Tuning. I had never had a problem before, and I have purchased stuff from them over the last few years including for my BMW. However, I have tried to claim warranty on a factory part, but they have informed me they do not honour warranties on OEM parts outside of the USA.

I don't know why anyone would ever buy from ECSTuning from Australia. Their shipping prices are a joke. FCP euro might not be as cheap for some of the stuff compared to ECS but the shipping is so much cheaper. Also the FCP service is excellent if anything goes wrong, they will respond quickly and send you a new part. Return of the old part is covered by them as well. I've placed about a dozen orders with FCP over the last year, only 1 mistake and it was rectified very quickly

If you email Ecs you get cheap shipping.
I like to buy from them as they send you updates of purchase, shipping and any delays. I but from Fcp too and shipping is cheaper without asking. As for warranties who knows till something breaks. Hope the part wasn't too expensive |

It was a HPFP. In retrospect, I should have bought it from Australia, since it was always going to fail and need a warranty claim. Stupid BMW, stupid HPFP.

would the warranty require you to send it back?
Yeah ECS is a joke, i even emailed them complaining that they were losing business as their shipping calculator was totally unrealistic, yet they didn't budge. Schmiedmann seems to be the cheapest for most parts, yet FCP euro is probably the most reliable from what some guys have said. |

Some guy on n54tech sent back Mitsubishi oem turbos that he got from FCPeuro in 2013 which was completely thrashed with above 21psi and constant track days. And FCPeuro gave him brand new oem turbos once he returned the old thrashed oem turbos back. Goes to show how good FCPeuro is. Don't ever compare FCPeuro to the joke of a business ECS.

I've had good experiences from both companies, but much better ones at FCP (even when they made a small mistake).
ECS prices are sometimes cheaper per part, more expensive for shipping but also also have a larger variety of parts. I've used both, but I think I prefer FCP

Also you all are forgetting that FCP has price match guarantee to match any lower price by any other verified vendor in the world including ECS as well as request any part that another vendor may have that FCP does not have and price match that as well. So they can match ECS's prices whilst also keeping shipping costs pretty reasonable. It's a pretty one-sided comparison between ECS and FCP if you ask me

Bought a Mishimoto racing thermostat from ECSTuning before but doesn't seem to be able to fit it, searched online and found that everyone has fitting issue too, emailed Chris from ECS about the issue, he did some research for 2 days then get back and said he seems find that no one has successfully installed that thingy too and refunded me full straight away without any questions =]

I'm in Canada and I can tell you that ECS loses a lot of business from Canadians simply because their shipping rates are ridiculous.
I've wanted to buy so many damn parts from them but simply turn to our local vendors as they beat ECS in total cost, because ECS's shipping nonsense. They have very good prices however, shipping cost completely kills any savings and on top of that you get duty, brokerage fees and exchange rate. |

Based on that policy alone I would be steering people away from ECS

The warranty policy on genuine BMW parts is that of BMW. Any retailer operating outside of this is in risk of being flagged by BMW. That being said I was able to find Kabnine order from Feb of 2015 in our system, my head of customer service will be reaching out shortly.

I am genuinely impressed, that you got on the forum to follow up the OPs case. That said, I've been stuffed around by you guys so many times, I've taken my business elsewhere, but it's nice to see someone at ECS take an interest Keep up the good work James |

Nevertheless, I commend you for taking the initiative to sort the customer service issue ECS are having with Kabnine. |

Not just referring to ECS as it happens with a lot of other vendors on the forums here.
If a customer has to jump up and down on the forums to get customer service then they've already failed imo. They're stomping a PR issue rather than ensuring good customer serivce. Any remedy to the situation is what should've happened in the first place, and is most likely a one time solution rather than good service in general.
