got the car....got the procede....and hit the track
i decided to hit the track tonite even with 200 miles on the car. couldnt hold myself back. hell i even installed the procede with 20 miles on the car.
so far i am very impressed with the car pulled a 13.36 @ 107.9 mph runflats suck to launch on, so much torque down low you gotta just try and jump the car out get on the gas easy to keep from spinning the tires.:rocks: damn i love this machine |

You've already tracked AND PROcede'd the car w/ a meager 200 miles? Please...keep us up to date on what should be an interesting couple thousand miles in your car.

this should be documented very well and have it passed on regarding what NOT to do when you first get your car.

Once you get a couple of thousand miles on your car, assuming that your launches improve, you should be able to get down to a flat 13 sec 1/4 mile or better.
What were the track conditions? altitude, temp etc?

Exactly, and it's something even a CPO program can't weed-out. That's why I believe in buying new, provided you can keep the car more than 6-7 years. My friend just looked at a 2k4 E46 M3 private party sale, and he had an uneasy feeling when the owner turned out to be around 21. I think he made the right decision in saying no based on that alone.

Lower tire pressures, new tires, smaller, lighter rims will probably bump you into the low 13, high 12 range.
The trap speed is not bad. How's your 60' time?

no, a hard break in would be taking a car with less than 20 miles on it and racing a CLS55 AMG at speeds up to 135 on the highway for 275 miles then pulling into a shop, adding new mods and throwing it on a dyno at 300 miles, then running it hard for another 280 miles after that.

CPO probably wouldn't even if they could - they just want to move cars. Scary stuff though. The mods that you used to be able to do to a BMW were relatively "harmless" to the next guy.....but with the advent of the TT.....

temp at the track was 79 degrees. here in st. louis i think we are right about 500 ft above sea level, dont hold me to that. track was a little on the slick side according to others as well. i didnt burn the tires in the burnout box just rolled up and shot at it. bmw builds some very impressive engines, im not affriad of the new n54 aluminum-magnesium engine block, its built well. i have been doing a hard break in just doin it with proceed and a night of fun |
