iDrive update CCC (2007 E93)
Hello, I've spent a couple hours reading past threads on updating the iDrive that my car comes with.
I have gathered information like the three non BMW websites that it can be obtained from: http://www.satnavupgrades.co.uk/id47.html http://www.bmwnavi.co.uk/ http://www.bmminiparts.com/PartDetai...C-1DF8B3BC42EC and the BMW one in the accessories section which starts at £85 and I have the email address of the guy you can get the activation code from somewhere. All I really need to know now is that, to have a fully up to date system would I be better off going to BMW and getting them to do it or are these DVDs all it takes? I'm not just referring to NAV information, I'm thinking along the lines of firmware. Is there separate software updates for the iDrive? My aim here is to update once and never really need to update it for the four years I intend to keep the car. According to my DVD box I am running an 08-1 Nav Professional DVD. Is there such a thing as a system update for the whole car? Last time my car was taken in, I was told it was up to date in terms of software and recalls, but I'm now thinking this was in reference to things that they handle for free. I.e not satnav update. |
