E90 Bi-Xenon shutter failure
![]() Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I recently hit a roe deer and destroyed my right dynamic xenon. I bought another headlight for replacement which works great except the xenon shutter - it doesn’t open IN BOTH headlights when turning the high beam on, just the halogen fires up. As to compare, another headlight plugged in (I had one to compare for a moment) doesn’t have this issue. Is this an issue with the headlight itself? (Solenoid or whatever) Or maybe it’s a coding issue? Neither inpa nor the car checks themselves show any error. If I had Ista I would try to do the shutter test but I only have inpa/ncs and probably can’t do that. Been thinking about short circuit failure but then that test headlight would not open the shutter aswell. Any help would be greatly appreciated! ![]() |
