Might be buying an E90 tomorrow... can you give me advice please?

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum. I live in Western Australia, Australia. I was planning to buy and older BMW 3-series (2003) and happen to find an mature aged woman who is selling her 320i E90 2005 model which lease just expired. She is selling it for dealer trade in value. Its a very lucky find and I am test driving it tomorrow if all works out.

Can you please give me advice? I've never owned BMW before and I wasn't even planning to get an E90 but for the price, it might be too good to pass up.

Is there anything I should be looking at on this car? E.g faults, problem, recalls? Anything at all?

Kind Regards
AM

Maybe the models are different in Australia but wasn't 2006 the first year of the E90 and wasn't the 2005 the E46 model?

I had a 2006 E90 330i (the first year of the E90 in Canada) and it was a great car with no problems at all!

No, late 2005 was the first year here in Australia. 100% sure. Checked the redbook. Maybe because they are produced in South Africa.

Anyone got any advice I should take with me when I look at the car tomorrow?

If you do a car report on the car vin # you can find out if the car model has been recalled or not. Well in the states you can not sure bout Aus. Also not sure if you have been shopping for a bit but in my experience, more you shop and look around better deals can be found. If you think you got a great deal compare to others and yo uare happy with it. Thats all it matters in the end.

Good luck with your buy.

Yeh, I've been shopping around for a while. BMW dealers sell the one I'm looking at for $45000 (sticker price), private sale usually $40000+ and this lady is letting hers go for the lease residual which is $35500.

Confirmed, right hand drive made in SA started launch in April 2005 , same as Hong Kong.

I'd get it checked out by someone that knows E90's. My biggest concern would be making sure the car had not been in an accident.

I would give her a deposit and some flowers, have it checked out, and count my lucky stars. Great find.
