you can replace and code it without dealer if you have correct frm and appropriate software

You can replace it without too much difficulty. It does need to be coded to the DME. I think if you have the Foxwell / Scawben scanner you can code it, but don't quote me on that.
The dealer can code it, but they will charge you at least $100.00 to do so. A local shop that specializes in European Autos can probably do it for a lot less. I had a new FRM module on an X5 coded for about $50.00 once. |
